window frame

My new find - I picked this up here, it's the cutest shop for all things vintage, and the owner is the sweetest.
Next step is actually filling it with photos, that sit in my phone and don't even get printed. I'll keep you posted.

Happy Wednesday

sweater weather

I finally wore one of my sweaters last weekend. Forget about the fact that Winter has been here for 2 months, but first SCARVES!

My nails are ready for Christmas.

thanksgiving

I'm a little behind on posts. Let us begin at Thanksgiving! The whole family, including first cousins, gather and my grandmother's. We always eat a big feast and run around and play with kids.

As soon as boyfriend and I got home from Thanksgiving I put up the tree!
Mr. Darius Rucker stands guard. (get it owl, hootie and the blowfish, darius rucker)

christmas decor pt. 1

This weekend I got out all the Christmas things we had. I still have some at my parents house I need to pick up.
My new Goodwill friend went on my little Good will "shelf"

I never realized exactly how many Christmas penguins I had.

decor

We have a wall in our apartment that has been taunting me to put something on it. So, Friday night before date night my girlfriend Kasey and I made a quick stop to Hobby Lobby, in our heels! I picked up a mirror and wall decoration for 50% off!
The "shelf" is actually from Goodwill, along with the vase. They match perfectly. I think I may spray paint the vase. Any suggestions?

I had plans to turn the suitcase I found at Goodwill into a table. However, I couldn't bring myself to ruin it.
Shell I bought at Goodwill :)

Call me crazy, but I have already started decorating for Christmas! I cannot wait for the holidays and I can't wait any longer.

fall centerpiece finished

Finally, I am getting so close to getting the things I wanted done for fall. The most important was the dining table, because it's the first thing you see when you walk in our apartment.
start of the project
the pumpkins, squash, pine cones, orange candles, place mats are all from Dollar General. I seriously love that place.

more Fall decor

I have continued to decorate our apartment all warm and cozy.

All I did to make these were print off big letters. Cut them out. Bought the frames at Dollar General all were under $2.00. I already had the background paper. I had some leaf stamps I wanted to incorporate. You can barely see that in the picture, but it looks really good!

Hell is a laundromat

I had to wash my comforters, so this weekend I went to the laundromat. First, I get there and I get starred down by everyone there. Second, I forgot my laundry detergent. I packed up my comforters, went home, came back. All the washers were full by the time I came back. I sat there while kids ran around, pushing chairs around, trying to eat my Cheez-its.
Let me just say, it was Hell.

bed is done

Good morning. Our bed is finally done. Meaning, Fall sheets are on. I had the brown conformer already, but I needed new pillow cases to match the headboard.

This is my favorite place in the world. Wish I was there now.

diy headboard

Good morning! It is cold and gloomy here again in Iowa. Which effects my mood :'( Last night I made a headboard for the bed. It needed to match the orange chair I added, the most important. I think it turned out really good, considering I want to change the bedspread for fall anyways.

(Hoppity likes it)

Before

You will need a stapler. "Ultra Steel" from Walmart. It is very scary to use.

All I used was a display board. I had to get two so it would be long enough. The fabric was also from Walmart

Fold the corners!

Voila!
I really like this super easy, cute, fun way to "spruce" up a room

fall decor pt 3

I made this for the kitchen table to continue my fall decor. I picked up the acorns in my parents' yard, but I need to add more to it. I had this vase at home with fake flowers already in it. And the fall flowers are from Dollar General.

cozy nook

When I got home from work yesterday, I got a wild hair. I decided to move my favorite chair from the living room into the bedroom. It didn't really fit in the living room of our apartment, but it's my favorite piece!

I can't wait to sit, read a book, and take a nap in it this winter

fall decor pt. 2

I am so excited for fall, I can't stand it. I'm ready for sweaters, scarves, and jeans! I decided to make a fall wreath for our door in the apartment.
This is too pretty to put on the door that no one will see.
So, it went on the wall in the living room.

fall decor

What a nice long weekend I had! I would have liked to check a few more things off my list, but watcha gonna do! The first thing I made was the start of my Fall decor.

I went to the park in town and stole some things! Then I spray painted the leaves with some gold and tied them with a string. It turned out better than I thought.
