sweater weather

I finally wore one of my sweaters last weekend. Forget about the fact that Winter has been here for 2 months, but first SCARVES!

My nails are ready for Christmas.

pink & GLITTER nails

I just wanted to show you guys how I've done my nails over the past week! Also, it's easy to find the time when your boyfriend buys a new video game. 

GLITTER NAILS! 

These were so easy to do, so it's another must have. Step one, apply Sally Hanson Hard as Nails

Step two, apply OPI: Love Letter (Do one finger at a time, because you are going to apply the glitter as soon as you put on this polish)

Step three, after you do your first finger just sprinkle the glitter on the tip of the nails. Some will jump around the base of your nails, but it builds character :P. After you're done sprinkling you can with your finger dab on the glitter so it's flat on your nails.

I picked up this glitter at Walmart for a project last year.

This is the color that I used.

Always finish up your nails with a top coat. 

On to the the nails I had last week

 First, I applied a soft pink color that I got in one of my Ipsy bags. Zoya: Gie Gie

2nd, I applied on the tips my favorite nail polish brand Maybelline Color Show. This color is Porcelain Party 380.

Then, just with a small nail brush GLITTER! 

Sailor Flowers

My nails this week came out a little sailorish with some flowers.

New Nails

Good rainy morning. The start of my nail collection from Amazon came in the mail Monday, so I decided to do my nails last night with my new bows! I made an impromptu trip to Walgreens last night to get some new polish colors. I picked up these two Loreal colors

These colors are amazing, also, I loved the brush. They aren't the typical round brush, they are flat and nail shaped. Perfect. Royalty Reinvented & Crazy for Chic

Green Day

Red, White, and Grey Toes

You may know that Sundays are my beauty days. So while watching the Oscars I did my toes! 

I have really fell in love with Maybelline's Color Show nail polish. A deep deep love. 

• Grey: Impeccable Greys 410
• Red: Keep Up The Flame 250
• Sally Hanson's hard as nails
• White: Petites French White 417

Fail: Sponge Nails

Ok, girls, we have to talk. I'm sure you've heard or seen pictures of "sponge nails" or  "ombre nails" In case you haven't. I love the idea of it. Well, I went ahead and tried it...

I picked out my colors and applied my nail hardener. 

(Sally Hansen: 160 Hard- Core Party, Maybelline Color Show: 410 Impeccable Greys)

I applied my colors on the sponge...

Then, it failed. Horribly... 

 I am really disappointed that this did not work. I don't know how they do it, but it did not work for me. Here are some reasons why it didn't work. 

1. First, it's a sponge it's going to absorb liquid quickly. I couldn't keep up with applying. 
2. You need to add a lot of polish to the sponge in order to really see the color. I cherish my nail polish and don't want to waist it. 
3. It is very messy.. enough said. 

All in all, I would say this does not work for me. Have you successfully done this before? If so please comment below and tell us how you did it! Good luck.

cross nails

I did my nails, again, the other day! They didn't have anything on them and I couldn't stand it. I finished up some black that I had. So I get to buy some new :D that makes me happy. 

I washed dishes shortly after and ruined them. Geez...

mexican date night

Friday night the boy took me out to La Casa, which is a Mexican restaurant in our town. MARGARITAS! 

I also am wearing matching fingernail polish and lips. (coming to October favorites)

Friday night my 2 best gals and I went out for a drink for our friend Kalen's birthday!

I decided to try out new wings for the night.

I think I finally found a nail kit that I'm going to like. I've been trying different ones, with no luck. start of my search I picked up this kit from Walmart last night

It was first time doing it, so they didn't turn out perfect. The kit has what a salon would have! I think I found the mother ship. Walmart has a brand "Kiss" but after some online reviews Nailene was the best one.

Dentist/shop outing

After the weekend I had, I was happy to have a dentist appointment/shop outing with my mother yesterday. We both needed an extra day to recupe ;) 

 Capris are from Goodwill. Plaid shirt, and yellow cardigan from H&M. Ring was a gift. Owl necklace was a gift from Fossil (I think?) Red shoes from Walmart

diy nails

I love getting my nails done. However, spending $40+ every 2 weeks doesn't really fit into my budget. 

So, I have decided to do them myself and search for the best kind.

I am giving these a try and see how they do. Visually they look really good, and did not take much time. There was very little maintenance, however, I did have to file them a little because they scratched. I've had them on for 16 hours now and one fell off already. Luckily I brought the glue to work and glued it back on. So far... womp womp womp.

Memorial Weekend

Hope everyone is having a good short week. I had the best Memorial Weekend! 1/3 of my family from Oregon came to visit. The weekend was full of outdoor stuff and KIDS! We got to enjoy the pool, hit the horse races, and enjoy plenty of beverages.

I did get a chance to get some things done around the apartment.

Like potting my flowers.

I needed a watering can, so I poked some holes in the milk carton and called it good

+ I spoiled myself with DQ and getting my nails done!

I miss them so much already. We cried like always when we had to say goodbye to each other. My boyfriend and I talked it over and we decided a trip to Oregon is a must this year.
