Vacation in Kansas City, MO

Good Morning! Getting back into the work routine has been rough. Which means a lot of coffee. My boyfriend and I went on a 4 night vacation to Kansas City. We did it last year and are making it a yearly tradition. Even though we would like to go more often. It's 3 hours away from us, but we keep ourselves entertained. Never a dull moment in our lives.
the view from my window.

Kansas City. and this thing is pretty neat.

The buildings close to where we stay are beautiful

We shopped until we dropped
The best part about our trips are H&M and Urban Outfitters. There are some things from Charlotte Russe too!

I realized I kind of have a thing for fountains.

Being in Kansas City, we HAD to go to Power and Lights for some drinks! We met up with friends and had a great time.

Our last day in Kansas City was a little gloomy. Iowa straight ahead was nice and sunny! Good thing to come home to.

Tonight, we go to the Iowa State Fair!

my week so far.

Hola people! Last night I got my butt to work and make some more necklaces and dabbled in making a few rings. (I don't know if I like them, hopefully someone will buy one)

My boyfriend and I live in a 2 bedroom apartment so we don't have a lot of room. So I just turned on Craft Wars and make these on our bed! While I was making these my boyfriend came walking in with these!

He got these specific ones because blue is my favorite color. I gave them a little trim and put them in a vase that my grandmother gave me. more on that

Monday morning I was so happy to see balloons in the sky. I'm like a little kid when I see them. They used to take off at my parents house when I was young, so they come with good memories. I went on a venture to take some pictures.

These were all taken with instagram (missjackib)

Hello, I would like to first say that I hope you weren't expecting DIY things! Oops. (slacker) I have however had a very exciting week(end) First, I was very excited to see a balloon out early last week. The town I live in is very big on balloons, they are a big to do every year. When I was a kid they used to take off in our yard and so it has a corner place in my heart.

Later last week my co-worker made us all ankle bracelets. Which was perfect because I was in the market for some more. On my right ankle I have had the same ankle bracelet on 2+ years. It does not come off. So, I'm happy to have another one.

In the same week I had a work visitor, my nephew. He is my little buddy <3

Last Friday I got to see the newest addition to the family. My youngest nephew Dalton. His big sister loves him, until the toy stealing happens.

My best gal and I finally got to make it golfing for the first time this year with our friend Michael. We have a plan to go every other weekend! Hope we can stick with it.

Mother's Day was a blast. Every holiday my family gets together, plus some! We are a close knit family. Our grandmommy and great uncles came to hang out as well. The kids blew bubbles, watched Oliver and Company, and played Buzz & Woody. It was the most adorable thing to watch. When I watched the movie with them some of the songs came back to me. When I started singing my niece said "don't sing that song"... I apologized and stopped.

Yesterday, I finally cooked. I had been slacking for awhile because we have been so busy. My dad gave us some wild turkey that had been marinating in italian dressing. So I covered them in breadcrumbs and fried them up! I also made cheese fries.

This is what you need to make them. If it takes you more than 30 seconds to figure out how to cut potatoes into fries, you are not alone.
  • Potatoes, green onion, jalapenos, salt and pepper, oil, cumin, garlic, chili powder, paprika, onion powder, cheese, and bacon.
  • After you cut the fries throw them into a bowl.
  • Mix in a tsp of all the seasonings and oil
  • Place on cookie sheet with sprayed foil and bake 400 degrees for 25 minutes.
  • After they are to your liking. Top with (I used 3 slices of) cooked bacon
  • And as much cheese, japs, and onions as you like
They turned out delish. We ate all of it, and by we I mean ME!

why I get up in the morning

Good day everyone! this post isn't all the exciting, however it's important... so read it dangit. I have been (trying) to get myself healthy. mind/body/soul.
this is the hardest thing to do, ever. so I have compiled a list to remind myself how good life can be!

10 reasons I get up in the morning.

1. God is good & I feel blessed everyday. my family is all healthy and my friends are amazing people
2. to get my first hug from my boyfriend. It's sappy, but I have found the love of my life! <3
3. to make that money $$
4. try and live a healthy lifestyle
5. to feel the first smile of the day
6. to do something
7. another step toward a goal. whatever that goal may be, I try and take a step. they're usually baby steps
8. I try to be the best person I can be, but let's be honest. It is the hardest thing to do... being good is not easy
9. for picture perfect moments like this one
